PEACE MAKERS: INTERFET'S Liberation of East Timor is the original and the best hard cover colour book on the Australian Defence Force's intervention in East Timor in September 1999.

PEACE MAKERS covers the Australian and UN Forces' experience in East Timor from the first boot to hit the ground at Dili's Komoro Airport on Day One through to Major General Peter Cosgrove's handover of authority to the United Nations in February 2000.

PEACE MAKERS boasts more than 350 photos which cover every aspect of INTERFET's Operations in East Timor from the initial SASR, 2RAR and 3RAR operations to secure Dili through to Operation Lavarack which saw peace restored throughout the tiny country and along the border with Indonesia.

Through dry scrub and jungle mountains, PEACE MAKERS follows the story of INTERFET's infantry and Special Forces and the units that supported them as they bought peace after the nightmare wrought by the pro Indonesian Militia.

Special sections are dedicated to: Dili, Operation Lavarack, Westfor, The Enclave, RESPFOR (SpecOps), RAN Clearance Divers, RAAF Airfield Defence Guards and the Kiwis.

PEACE MAKERS is a Limited Edition of 1500 copies in hard case, with 100 pages of colour and over 350 pix and almost 50,000 words by renown Aussie photojournalist John Hunter Farrell. Proudly produced by the team at Australian & NZ Defender magazine.
