Halfbreed Blades have released a new spear point Medium Clearance Knife (MCK-01) to complement their range.
This new fixed-blade Close Quarter Battle knife offers an alternative to their MCK-02 for those users who prefer a spear point over a recurved point on their blade.
The MCK-01 is a mid sized knife and as with its sister MCK-02 Halfbreed Blades has concentrated on delivering a real balance between size, weight, strength and cutting power to produce yet another tough, utilitarian multi function tool.
Designed with both the military and extreme outdoor enthusiast in mind, the MCK-01 features a full tang construction which finishes in a crusher pommel. Being made from Austrian 6.5mm Bohler K110 (D2) tool steel the MCK-01 has excellent strength and durability, allowing it to pack a punch when using the pommel for hammering, smashing and crushing tasks.
The razor sharp plain polished blade finishes in a spear point making it especially adapted for piercing and slicing and is finished in a protective glare reducing Teflon coating.
Like its sister MCK-02, the hand guard size has been increased to protect the user from the razor sharp cutting edge and this also allows the user the ability to choke up high for delicate shaving, or take a lower grip for more dynamic slashing tasks.
The entire perimeter of the hard wearing G10 handle scales is machine beveled to achieve maximum grip bare handed and the scales are contoured for maximum comfort and less abrasion.
The MCK-01 was developed from the input of active-duty personnel to produce an incredibly tough blade. It is available in Black, Dark Earth and Ranger Green options and comes with a precision moulded Kydex sheath ready for belt mounting.
